Dependent Visa:

A Dependent Visa is valid for three months up to three years, and is available to foreigners married to an individual in possession of a working visa. Those who maintain dependent visa status are not allowed to work unless granted permission by Japanese immigration, and then only for a set maximum amount of hours per week. Extensions of this visa can be obtained prior to the expiration date by submitting the necessary paperwork to the local immigration office.
