BUSINESS REGISTRATION

Within one month of establishing a business in Hong Kong,
you must obtain a Business Registration Certificate from the
Business Registration Office
(http://www.info.gov.hk/ird/eng/tax/bre.htm), which is
situated in the same building as the Inland Revenue
Department in Wanchai (see “Taxation – Paying your Dues”,
above). This usually takes no more than about half an hour
and costs around $2,600 for a one-year certificate and around $7,000 for a three-year certificate. The most common methods of establishing and registering a business in Hong Kong are by way of either incorporating a limited company or registering a Hong Kong branch of an already established overseas business.
