HONG KONG IDENTY CARD


Under the Registration of Persons Ordinance, with the
exception of children under the age of 11, all residents and
non-residents who remain in Hong Kong for more than 180
days are required to obtain a Hong Kong Identity Card from
the Registration of Persons Office. Having acquired an
identity card, the holder must carry it on his person at all
times when in public. Failure to do so is an offence, which
may result in arrest.
